My Juliet Dilemna

Hmmmm. I tried this on this afternoon to see where to start the lace. Now...I'm not sure if the front is wide enough to accommodate my boobs, if it will look ok gaping if not, or whether to stop now, and go back and start again with a bigger size. I know there's 5" negative ease in this pattern and I am making the S size because of that, but I'm not sure what to do.

I absolutely love love love the colour. And it is really soft. And surprisingly warm. Maybe I should stop it now as a shrug...

Oh, excuse the rubbishy dark photo, taken in haste by a revising daughter!

I wish I could help, but I haven't made the Juliet for myself yet.

Could start the next size with a different skein and when you get to the same point try it on and see? And then decide which on to frog?

I must agree, it looks rather small across the top? I'm never quite sure what negative ease means? does that mean it will stretch 5 more inches once it's on, or blocked?
Sorry I can't give any advice on it.

Which yarn are you using? If it's one that will "grow" a little, I would stick with the size you're knitting. It does look a little small right now. However, if you do decide to go with the larger size, I wouldn't knit the bottom in the larger size (either do less increases or more decreases before starting that section) as I think it runs VERY large.

Not sure if I got to you in time, but STICK TO THE SMALL!!! Promise!

Even try it on with waste yarn as keeping it on your needles still doesn't indicate a true fit as it doesn't "spread" out all the way sitll on your sticks.

I like that the Zephyr patterns are an easy flow!

Can't wait to see more WIP pics!

FYI - I even went down to a size on the lace portion so it wouldn't look so 'moo moo' on me!

I am not sure but it is a great colour!

I think I would go up a size or so. I haven't knitted this, but looking at the photo of the original, the top section is closed with some fastenings - I suppose it's a question of whether or not you want to do it up?

I'm sure it will really suit you, Liz (love your Phildar Swing jacket as well!).

I don't know what to suggest. I think it looks fine but it's up to you and whether you think you would wear it as is.
